Mayor Stephanie Berean-Weeks and members of the town and planning boards officially welcomed Woodbury Junction during special groundbreaking ceremonies at the new collection of 450 single family homes set to rise in the Orange County town. Berean-Weeks and the local officials joined representatives of The Carteret Group, developer of Woodbury Junction, for the special event which signifies the start of construction of the first multi-generational community in N.Y.C.'s northern suburbs. The gated community will feature neighborhoods of both all-age and active-adult housing on a single site. The project cost was not disclosed. "We are pleased mayor Berean-Weeks and municipal officials joined us to mark the beginning of this new community which will offer a neighborhood design unlike any other found in the Hudson Valley region," said William Brodsky, CEO of the Carteret Group. "By combining two distinctive yet separate housing enclaves, one for all age buyers and one for active adults, Woodbury Junction will offer single-family designs that fulfill the needs of buyers no matter what stage of life." While the traditional classic American architecture of both housing types are identical, two-story designs with the same multiple exterior façades, to preserve the community's overall architectural integrity, each neighborhood is tailored to fit the requirements of its respective buyers. The active adult and all-age neighborhoods will be separated on the site. Woodbury Junction's three active adult floor plans offer master bedroomson the first floor and open kitchens designed to accommodate many personal lifestyles. Offering 1,500, 1,700 and 2,100 s/f of living space, these residences include over-sized two-car garages, central air and fireplaces. Homes in the all-age neighborhood offer four different floor plans, ranging insize from 2,300 to 3,000 s/f and featuring bonus rooms, sun rooms and finished basements.
