Nassau IDA launches rebrand and new website
Mineola, NY The Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (NCIDA) celebrated the launch of its new marketing strategy, inclusive of a full rebranding, which aims to attract new industry, retain existing businesses and inform the public’s understanding of the agency’s role. The NCIDA’s rebrand, which includes the launch of a new, data-centric website, will serve as a springboard for more targeted economic development efforts that will foster the county’s financial prosperity.
“The Nassau IDA has done great work to position the County as a desirable location to conduct business in,” said Nassau County executive Laura Curran. “This strategy reflects a new chapter in the NCIDA’s efforts to build Nassau’s brand, target incentives to growth industries and increase employment opportunities for our residents.”
“An incredible amount of progress has been made in the county due, in large part, to an NCIDA Board and staff that is composed of individuals who share in the dedication to maintain Nassau County’s standing as a premier location to conduct business,” said Nassau IDA chairman Richard Kessel. “There was a collective understanding that it was time for us to launch this effort to rearticulate what the Nassau IDA is and what we do for the betterment of the County’s residents. This rebrand speaks to the successes we’ve had, but more so to the opportunities on the horizon.”
Through the year-long organizational review, the NCIDA worked to pinpoint areas of opportunity for economic growth through bolstering marketing, brand strategy, and economic research to best support growth in the region. The NCIDA’s renewed focus will target several industries that are poised for expansion including, information and communication technology, health services, media and entertainment and professional services while honoring legacy industries such as aerospace and defense. Each of these industries are being targeted as the county’s infrastructure as well as existing industry clusters are already primed allowing for new companies to get seamlessly integrated into the regional economy.
The renewed focus also called for a new look for the NCIDA, which features a redesigned logo that positions the IDA as an approachable, friendly, and modern organization with the resources and influence needed to connect businesses to opportunities for expansion.
On the digital front, the NCIDA completely recreated its website, www.nassauida.org, to enhance navigability and intuitiveness for all visitors, including existing and new businesses, residents and other stakeholders. The new website also lent itself to the creation of Nassau County Business and Community dashboards, which are featured throughout the website.
These dashboards include relevant information about employment, labor force, employment by industry, salary ranges by occupation, and top employers.
The renewed website also focused on providing a suite of resources to be used by a majority of C-Suite executives and site selectors when identifying locations to move their businesses to Nassau including CoStar search capability, Nassau County Land Record Viewer, Nassau County zoning referrals, New York State traffic volume viewer, town & city zoning maps, and links to all local municipal websites.
Additionally, the NCIDA created a Partner’s page for smaller and mid-sized businesses to easily access. The NCIDA team encourages local businesses to contact the NCIDA staff to be introduced to a Partner organization if they desire.
“I know I speak for everyone at the NCIDA when I say we are excited by all that this rebrand represents for us as an agency and for Nassau County as a whole,” said Harry Coghlan, CEO of the Nassau County IDA. “Despite the challenges we, like so many faced in 2020, we were able to continue putting the best interests of the County’s economy first and continue to invest in the future of our region. We encourage anyone with an appetite to learn more about how the NCIDA helps businesses grow and our economy to expand to visit our new website, connect with us and start a conversation.”
