Greenlawn, NY Racanelli Construction Company, Inc., a leading construction management, general contractor and design/build resource for commercial, industrial, retail, medical, pre-engineered and multi-unit residential projects, completed a construction project on behalf of a longstanding customer, North Shore Community Services, Inc. The company served as the general contractor on the project which involved a full upgrade of an existing 7,500 s/f single story hematology and oncology practice located at 270 Pulaski Rd.
The project required a completed interior demolition along with extensive exterior site work encompassing a concrete sidewalk and ramp. Steel reinforcement, new framing of walls, ceilings, flooring, millwork and case work, as well as door frames and hardware were provided. The upgrade also included a new storefront system, paint and bathroom accessories, as well as electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire sprinkler systems. In addition to concrete and steel, other materials used included crushed rock, aluminum, wood, plastic Corian, glass, compound/caulking, tile, vinyl, rubber and carpeting.
The project, which was implemented for an Article 28 conversion (i.e., as required by New York State public health law which regulates the accreditation of public health care facilities), was completed on an accelerated schedule in order to meet the Department of Health’s pre-determined inspection date.
