What was the most challenging part of working during the pandemic?
The most challenging part of working during the pandemic was actually deciding when to “pull the trigger” and pivot to offering all of our auctions “online-only” rather than just continuing to postpone them. Now I’m wishing I had made the decision sooner! The response to our app and online platform has been tremendous. Our business is up 11% and the year isn’t over yet. I am beyond fortunate that the Maltz Auctions team members have been employed here for many years. I believe the shortest term is seven years and the longest is over thirty. Because of this, we are a well-oiled machine and were able to shift to remote working almost seamlessly. I don’t think anyone could have predicted that nine months later we’d still be in the throes of a pandemic.
What was your most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2020?
Our most notable transactions of 2020 took place just a few months ago. During this time of covid, we posted more than $100 million in sales, including a $50 million single property sale and a $29 million bulk portfolio sale.
