September 15, 2008 - Long Island
SMPS-LI closed out a successful 2007/2008 program year with two programs, the golf outing which took place on June 12 at the Stonebridge in Smithtown and the Annual Meet & Greet which took place on July 17 at the Westbury Manor. In addition to playing 18 holes, golf outing attendees enjoyed dinner and cocktails while participating in a raffle and auction with all proceeds benefiting the Sarah Grace Foundation, a charity established in the memory of Sarah Grace Weippert that's dedicated to children with cancer. The raffle and auction generated $7,045 which was presented to the Sarah Grace Foundation at the Meet & Greet.
In August at the SMPS National Convention in Denver, SMPS-LI was presented with a Striving for Excellence Award in recognition of the chapter's growth, financial health and other initiatives.
