What recent project or accomplishment are you most proud of?
The UBS Arena (the Islanders’ new stadium) and mixed-use development project. I’m proud to be part of the extraordinary team that overcame several unique challenges to keep this project moving forward. With the clock ticking to obtain approvals and get the stadium construction underway, we worked with an evolving site layout. Eventually, the development will also include a hotel, office space, and retail buildings that will tie into the arena’s utility infrastructure. Without knowing the specifics of these future components, we designed for maximum density. This move future-proofed the utility plan, giving the developer flexibility in selecting future tenants.

What is one characteristic that you believe every woman in business should possess?
The boldness and courage to speak up and ask questions. No matter what you’re trying to accomplish, figure out what your goal is, what the intention of the meeting or conversation is, and understand what each of you want to get out of it.

How are you networking during the pandemic?
I’ve made a point of reaching out to my existing and past contacts just to check in, even if we don’t have active projects. Many of them have been appreciative just to talk.
