September 15, 2008 - Brokerage
The New York Society of Professional Engineers (New York Chapter) is hosting its next dinner lecture entitled, "Everything you ever wanted to know about Professional Liability Insurance (but were afraid to ask)" on Wednesday, September 17 at Connolly's Restaurant, located at 121 West 45th St. (between Sixth Ave. and Broadway). Patricia Knobloch, AIA, executive architect of the NYC Dept. of Buildings, and Gus Sirakis, P.E., deputy director of the Office of Technical Certification and Research at the NYC Dept. of Buildings, will briefly describe proposed requirements for professional liability insurance in order to file under the professional certification program, and to perform special inspections required in the IBC. This will serve as a "pre-qualification" for licensed professionals to avail themselves of the privilege to self-certify or perform their own inspections. NYS licensed attendees (PEs and RAs) will earn one PDH credit hour. NYSSPE members $50; non-members $65. Three-course dinner includes one drink. RSVP early as space is limited.
