What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?
Being a part of the KPMG Women in Real Estate Steering Committee with two of my fellow female partners has been very rewarding over the last several years. Being able to contribute my knowledge of the real estate marketplace and help women succeed in the industry puts together two things I really love. I believe working with other senior women leaders in the industry and providing opportunities for advancement to other women is something I’m proud of doing.
What would you tell your daughter if she was interested in following in your footsteps?
When I was starting my career, I sometimes did not understand the value of what I was working on and seeing the big picture purpose. I thought if I just put my head down and did my work to the best of my ability, people would notice and I would be offered more challenging roles. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I would tell my daughter and any young professional to not be afraid of doing something outside of your comfort zone. Don’t hold back because you think you don’t have the confidence or skills to get the job done.
What was your favorite job and what did you learn from it?
Being a principal at KPMG has really been amazing. Like all positions, there are positives and negatives, but having the autonomy and accountability to be able to be a leader and effect change has really been the highlight of my career. Assisting our global clients in a meaningful way allows me to bring my skills and talents to the table and be able to contribute to the capital markets in meaningful ways.
