Hackensack, NJ According to O&S Engineers & Architects, Maia Kumari Gilman, AIA, LEED-AP BD+C, has joined the firm as a senior architect.
Gilman brings over 20 years of NYC design experience in the public and private sectors. Her primary focus will be new project development in adaptive reuse and architectural design, as well as construction administration services, in New York and New Jersey.
She will be involved in the oversight of a Hurricane Resiliency program for a large multi-building hospital campus in New York City.
Gilman’s work includes the design of a 90,000 s/f commercial fit-out. She has experience with historic restoration, building envelope design and repair, and the design of commercial, cultural, educational, hospitality, multifamily residential, single-family residential and wellness projects.

Gilman is a registered architect in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Bachelor’s degree in Urban Geography from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She is NCARB-certified and APEC-accredited, enabling her to gain licensure in national and international jurisdictions.
Gilman is a writer and public speaker on building and resiliency issues in the Northeast and has been published in the New York Real Estate Journal.
