Manhattan, NY According to the owners and operators of Frenchette, the modern French brasserie, they will be taking over the space at 45 Rockefeller Plaza on 50th St. between 5th and 6th Aves., which previously housed Brasserie Ruhlman. The untitled project at Rockefeller Center will be chef-owners Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson’s third restaurant in the city.
“We are thrilled that the Frenchette team will be coming to Rockefeller Center,” said EB Kelly, a Tishman Speyer managing director overseeing Rockefeller Center. “We are building an innovative and daring food and beverage program to set the bar as a dining destination for New Yorkers, and the Frenchette team is the epitome of modern hospitality and a creative and ambitious kitchen. We cannot wait for the opening!”
“As native New Yorker’s we have always admired New York City’s architectural gifts like Rockefeller Center. The grand scale of this historic plaza like that of Paris and other European capitals is the perfect setting for the energetic, bouillon and brasserie style restaurants we like to sample from. We look forward to this unique opportunity to work from a blank slate in the heart of the plaza and create a go-to restaurant for locals and visitors alike,” said chefs Hanson and Nasr.
The project will join more than 50 diverse food and beverage offerings currently available at the Center.
Frenchette is New York’s contemporary take on a French brasserie that guests have eagerly been lining up for since its Tribeca opening in 2018.
