How do you hold your own in a negotiation?
When negotiating, I always play out the negotiations from the opposite side. I mentally imagine if I were on the other side of the deal; how would I react, what would I oppose, what would be the deal breakers? I try to have the forethought to come up with answers and put a positive angle on them so that when they arise, they present as assets rather than challenges. 

What recent project or transaction are you most proud of?
Recently I was able to market and sell a hospitality property in East Hampton called the East Hampton Inn, now called Journey, with my current partner, Lisa Ferraro. The property had been on and off the market for years. I was able to not only successfully market this challenging property but also to find the perfect buyer. Ultimately, what made the deal possible was a creative structuring that allowed both parties to get most of what they wanted and overcome the hurdles that prevented it from selling in the past with other agents.
