With Democrats in control in Albany, the legislature and governor have agreed on a sweeping series of pro-tenant changes that essentially wipe out the deregulation efforts of the 1990s. On November 13^th, IREM NYC will hold a breakfast at The Union League Club, 38 East 37^th St. from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. The breakfast will focus on the topic of “In Case of Emergency.” There will be a roundtable discussion with Dmitri Dits, NYC DOB and representatives from the Disaster Recovery Institute (DRII). 57% of all NYC real estate management companies do not have an emergency and continuity plan in place. Learn how the city prepares and what they do in the event of an emergency, including necessary filing for emergency repairs; overview of the NYC DOB Continuity of Operations/Business Continuity Plan; discussion on the importance of proper planning and preparedness for any form of disruption; how to get your plan ready for action.

On November 11-13 and 18-20, IREM will hold an Accredited Residential Manager(ARM) certification course at  Knickerbocker Plaza – Lobby Level, 1751 Second Ave. (between 91^st and 92^nd Sts.)
