The Long Island Real Estate Group is grooming a new generation of industry leaders.
The networking and philanthropic organization has formed a Next Generation division under the leadership of Mark Kaplan of Woodbury-based Kabro Associates and Scott Burman of the Garden City-based Engel Burman Group, both scions of prominent Long Island real estate developers
"Our purpose is to attract the next generation of real estate and related professionals as members of LIREG and to foster a charitable giving and networking environment," said Kaplan. "The Next Gen group provides the opportunity for members to interact with their peers through active participation in specific charitable projects and social events, as well as to integrate with leaders in the industry as part of the greater LIREG organization."
The group seeks to attract real estate professionals under the age of 35.
"We're pleased that Mark, Scott and these other young people have stepped forward to get our Next Gen division moving and help our industry retain its vitality," said Richard Cohn, president of LIREG,
Besides Kaplan and Burman, the group's steering committee includes Bram Weber of the Weber Law Group, Melville; Ken Faltischek, general counsel of Sandata, Port Washington, and Lee Passavia of Woodbury Realty Holdings, Woodbury.
