Mojo Stumer to renovate six-story mixed-use buildings in South Harlem

April 16, 2019 - Brokerage

Manhattan, NY According to Mojo Stumer, a renovation of two six-story mixed-use buildings at on Fifth Ave. in South Harlem is underway.

Located across the street from one another and inhabiting an entire city block, the two matching buildings from 1980 are planned to receive new façades, lobbies and roof decks, as well as common area renovations and apartment upgrades.

Limestone cladding and antiqued bronze plate accent the upgraded façade, where a metal and glass overhang highlights the residential entrance. The custom metal work continues into the building lobby where it forms the frame for a “light wall,” consisting of glass mounted over individual LED “lumisheet” panels.

The LED panels are independently controlled for color temperature and brightness, providing a feature wall capable of endless lighting configurations. The updated aesthetic is carried through to the new roof deck, where sustainable kebonized wood and artificial grasses highlight a more natural palette. Black aluminum slats waterfall from high trellis structures of custom tapered glu-lam supports to distinguish gathering areas.
