Farmingville, NY According to Frederick Braun III, chairman of the Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA), Frank Trotta, a publisher, entrepreneur and lifelong resident of Bellport has been appointed to the IDA’s board of directors.
Trotta is the owner of two publications, 50 Plus LifeStyles and Fire News. He also is a principal in a family-owned local real estate management company and is vice chairman of Suffolk Federal Credit Union.
“We welcome Frank Trotta to our board and look forward to his business insights and contributions to the IDA as we move forward,” Braun said.
Trotta, who has a long career of public service, served as an elected official of the village of Bellport for 31 years, including 28 years as its longest serving mayor. Additionally, he has been chairman of the Brookhaven Town Board of Zoning Appeals, director of the Suffolk County Office of the Aging, trustee of Suffolk County Community College and in 2009 was appointed by the governor to the Stony Brook University Council. In addition, he serves as chaplain of the Bellport Fire Department.
Trotta has been involved with local organizations including the Long Island chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Foster Grandparents of Suffolk County and the American Red Cross.
A graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, he received a bachelor of arts degree in Business Administration from Long Island University as well as a master’s degree in Public Administration.
