Yonkers, NY Mill Creek Residential celebrated the opening of Modera Hudson Riverfront, a 324-unit residential community, and its adjacent sculpture park–a public/private partnership between the developer and the city. The community celebrated the official grand opening event hosted by Yonkers mayor Mike Spano, Mill Creek Residential, as well as leaders from the Yonkers business community.

Located along the Hudson River, Modera Hudson Riverfront is situated in the center of the city's waterfront district, where new development is revitalizing the area and spurring a wave of interest in the Getty Square neighborhood – a major shopping, dining, and retail destination in Westchester County. In developing Modera Hudson Riverfront, Mill Creek has addressed the increasing demand for upscale luxury homes to serve the growing demographic of urban professionals in Yonkers. Modera Hudson Riverfront’s ideal location – steps from the Yonkers Metro-North station, and within walking distance of Downtown Yonkers – is attracting customers from throughout Westchester County and New York City alike, seeking upscale residences at an attainable price-point with all of the conveniences of an urban setting.

The sculpture park serves as an example of Mill Creek’s ethos of developing properties that both enhance, and integrate with the communities they are located in. Developed by renowned local artist Barbara Segal, in conjunction with other local artists, the sculpture garden is an additional on-site amenity for both Modera Hudson Riverfront, as well as city residents. Overlooking the Hudson River and the Palisades, the garden is another way residents can take in their scenic views in an outdoor setting. In addition to the sculpture works, the park includes an area dedicated to remembering the September 11th tragedy and will soon be home to the Enslaved Africian Rain Garden bronze sculptures created by renowned artist Vinnie Bagwell.

“With the opening of Modera Hudson Riverfront, Mill Creek is acknowledging the need for unique urban living through the development of a new upscale community that is continuing the renaissance of Yonkers’ waterfront”, said Rich Murphy, managing director at Mill Creek Residential. “As Yonkers continues redevelopment throughout the city, it is important private developers and public officials work together to create developments that integrate with, while enhancing their surroundings, such as Modera Hudson Riverfront.”

The six-story, 324-residence community will offer a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartment homes.

“The opening of Modera Hudson Riverfront is an exciting milestone in the complete revitalization of Yonkers’ waterfront district,” said mayor Spano. “As the area continues to grow, welcoming a variety of new businesses and residents, it is vital that the city offer cutting-edge, desirable living options like Modera Hudson Riverfront.”

Mill Creek has a proven philosophy of tailoring its development communities to each community’s locale. Reflecting this approach, Modera Hudson Riverfront features thoughtfully designed lifestyle amenities, including: a 15,000 s/f amenity center with a double-height hotel-style lobby; resident lounge; club-quality fitness center; private home offices; an indoor/outdoor sky-lounge with a golf simulator; a rooftop sundeck with views of the Hudson River; and interior landscaped courtyards with outdoor gaming tables and grills, fire pits, and a pool. The riverfront location offers unobstructed views from each residence in every direction.

“Mill Creek is committed to delivering exceptional living experiences that are distinguished by our ultra-high-quality amenities and finishes. In the communities we serve, we provide a unique product to fit the character of the surrounding neighborhood, and Modera Hudson Riverfront is no different” said Russell Tepper, senior managing director. “Yonkers continues to be an increasingly enviable locale that offers the accessibility, vibrancy, and urban convenience to compete with many of New York City’s great neighborhoods”.

At 20 Water Grant St., the community’s riverfront location is surrounded by noteworthy development along Yonkers’ emerging waterfront, and is encouraging walkability to Downtown Yonkers and the surrounding neighborhoods. For those commuting into New York City, the community is ideally located within walking distance from the Beaux Arts Metro-North train station, which is a 30-minute train ride to Grand Central Station.
