BEL Community Housing LLC, is a partnership between Brisa Builders Development LLC, Evergreen City LLC, an M/WBE affordable housing development group and Lemle & Wolff Dev. Co. Together, they propose the construction of 89 units of low-income, tax-credit, rental construction for seniors earning less than 50% of the area median income. The proposed project is located at 1488 New York Ave. (Block 4996 Block 1), and was originally owned by the Evangelical Crusade Christian Church.
The Bishop Philius and Helene Nicolas (BPHN) Senior Residence project will consist of 88 studio units and one 1-bedroom super’s unit. The project amenities will include a community room and common area space for residents, laundry facilities, and on-site social services. In addition, a 10,575 s/f community service facility will be located on the first and cellar levels. The project is estimated to be valued at $45.999 million
This space is envisioned to house a medical-office suite for geriatric primary care that although it will be a condominium space, built, owned and operated by the Evangelical Crusade Christian Church, the facility will be compatible with and supportive of a senior population.
