The town of Brookhaven and NYS Economic Development Council were pleased to work with Islip IDA’s Bill Mannix and all of Long Island’s IDAs to craft an Op-Ed detailing the results of NYS Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s state-wide IDA performance report. Among the Comptroller’s findings are:
• In 2016, net tax incentives awarded by Long Island’s IDAs totaled $124.7 million, less than .001% of all property taxes collected on Long Island.
• Those incentives leveraged more than $12 billion in private capital investment
• IDA incentives also resulted in the creation or retention of more than 100,000 jobs.
