Mortgage Bankers of NY awards scholarships to Ravichandran, D’Avella, Schacter, and Kunesch

New York, NY The Mortgage Bankers of New York (MBAofNY) honors the recipients of their 2018 Scholarships:  

The latter being the recipient of the inaugural Michael Fletcher Scholarship, named in honor of an MBAofNY past president and Fordham University alumnus. 

The MBAofNY Scholarship Foundation was reactivated earlier this year after a 10 year hiatus to support students pursuing a degree in real estate in city institutions of higher education. 

“We thank all our student members for their support and the scholarship applicants for their thoughtful submissions” said scholarship foundation chairman Richard Carr “and extend our congratulations and best wishes for continued success to the recipients.”

“I’ve been honored to lead such a dedicated, hard-working group that developed an entirely new vision for the Scholarship Foundation and accomplished so much in only a few short months” said Carr. “I’m also so proud that former protégés from our mentor program played such important leadership roles in our success”.  Carr also founded the MBAofNY’s Mentor 360 Program, created in 2013.

The MBAofNY Scholarship Foundation relies on the support and generosity of the MBAofNY Members, participants in their educational and networking programming and hosts independent fundraisers.  On September 12th, the Scholarship Foundation will host a panel discussion and cocktail event focused on Family Office Real Estate Investments Strategies at the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesman of the city of New York at 20 West 44th St.

Since 1948, the Mortgage Bankers Association of New York (MBAofNY) continues to offer its members endless opportunities for networking and education. A broad spectrum of firms and individuals choose membership in the MBAofNY, including mortgage bankers and brokers, commercial and investment banks and other institutional lenders, title companies, attorneys, accountants, appraisers, environmental and construction advisory firms.
