New York, NY Professional Women in Construction (PWC) hosted their first Annual Data Center Development panel highlighting top women in data center development, cybersecurity and buyer scrutiny at the Allsteel Showroom on May 17th. Networking was followed by a panel discussion on topics ranging from power and connectivity requirements to infrastructure solutions.

The panel discussion was moderated by Cate Agnew, executive director and head of real estate valuation at Natixis, and included panelists Carrie DiCanio, shareholder, Anderson Kill, Elsa Pine, vice president, sales and business development, EdgeConneX, Ilissa Miller, founder & chief executive officer, iMiller Public Relations (iMPR) Jasmin Kelley, electrical engineer, Robert Derector Mission Critical, and Lily Yusupova, strategic account executive, data center solutions, Schneider Electric.

The panel highlighted the astonishing growth in data center demand which shows no signs of abatement, and the continual upward trajectory of resources required to fill it. First and foremost among those resources are specialists ranging from general contracting to electrical engineering, from data and space configuration to risk management, from raw materials such as fiber and electrical power to sophisticated legal and financial framework. Essentially, data centers represent nothing short of a new industrial revolution, a fact which the panelists outlined in their discussions of the concept to completion process.

PWC’s mission is to promote, support and advance women in the construction and related industries. With informative industry programming we are able to raise awareness and continue the discussion of positioning the construction industry to advance women.
