How do you contribute to the future of your industry?
I am passionate about educating those around me, both clients and coworkers, to ensure that we stay leaders in the HVAC and energy efficiency field. Through my passion, I look to inspire businesses to make intelligent choices in the way their facility operates and how they maintain their building, all while being energy conscious.
We often hear from our clients that we are the best and most professional contractor that they have working for them in their facility. I hope to continue to deliver an exceptional level of experience and client satisfaction in the HVAC industry.
What are your professional goals for 2018 ?
My professional goal for 2018 is to get approval for my application to become a Professional Engineer (PE). Register for the exam, study and take a practice course so I can complete the processes of becoming a Profession Engineer in the field of HVAC.
How did you get your start in your current field?
At Atlantic Westchester, I am a project manager and design engineer; I develop and design HVAC and energy efficiency solutions for commercial and industrial buildings across the New York Metro area. Once created, I then manage the complete implementation of the project.
In college, I took a course on the principles of sustainable energy, which originally peaked my desire to get involved in the energy efficiency field. Atlantic Westchester was developing an energy department prior to my employment. When I joined the company in 2012, I spearheaded and helped further develop and enhance the program. To date, I have successfully co-managed a variety of projects in institutions and large buildings saving clients over $100,000 in annual utility bills.
Who or what do you attribute to your success?
My biggest strength that has attributed to my success is my drive to do better. With this drive, I have broadened my knowledge base and achieved two certifications, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Engineer in Training (EIT).
Additionally, my dynamic leadership skills have led me to be an accomplished project manager, which has helped fuel successful and organized projects. My greatest professional achievement is being able to take what I learned with my degree in engineering and execute a strategic, well-thought-out plan for our clients. Through my experience, I am able to identify and design sustainable solutions for our clients that reduce costs and overall energy consumption.
