New York, NY Denihan Hospitality, a full-service hospitality company focusing on developing, owning, managing and franchising hotels, has appointed John Chan as senior VP of development and Garine Ferejian-Mayo as senior VP of market strategy and revenue management. Collectively, Chan and Ferejian-Mayo bring to Denihan a 35-year record of accomplishment in the hospitality industry.
As SVP of development, Chan is responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing upon strategic opportunities to fuel Denihan’s long-term growth. This includes building and developing relationships with partners to expand the company’s family of brands and secure hotel management contracts. In her role as SVP of market strategy and revenue management, Ferejian-Mayo is responsible for driving top-line revenue for Denihan’s brands while ensuring market strategy is aligned with the company’s vision and priorities.
Chan and Ferejian-Mayo will report directly to Denihan’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Vera Manoukian.

Chan joins Denihan from SBE entertainment Group where he served as SVP of Development. In this role, he was responsible for growing SBE’s hotel and food and beverage development pipeline across all brands around the world from SLS, Delano and Mondrian to Hyde and Umami. Prior to joining SBE, Mr. Chan spent 12 years at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide most recently serving as vice president, Global Development Strategy and Chief of Staff. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University.
A results-driven business leader, Ferejian-Mayo joins Denihan from Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide where she most recently served as a sales leader in the business, leisure and travel group. In this role, she led a team responsible for $165M in sales for nine Starwood properties focusing on the transient, corporate, leisure, and group customer base in the New York City and New Jersey metro market. Ms. Ferejian-Mayo began her career at Interstate Hotels & Resorts on the West Coast before moving east where she directed revenue management for the Plaza Hotel, Loews Hotels & Resorts and Dolce Hotels & Resorts. Ms. Ferejian-Mayo holds a Bachelor of Science din Business Administration & Management from California State University.
