Jericho, NY Jack Britvan, SIOR, has been elected as president of the New York City/Long Island chapter of The New York State Commercial Association of Realtors, (NYSCAR). He has enjoyed a 42-year career in the commercial real estate industry on Long Island and throughout New York Metropolitan Tri-State region. Britvan previously held the office of president of the Downstate New York Chapter of The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, (SIOR). He was a founding board member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society, (CIBS) and served on its board and executive committee for 15 years.
In addition to his professional designations, Britvan has held a number of distinguished posts in many local charities and community organizations. At the Long Island Division of The American Cancer Society he served as an executive board member for 20 years. During his tenure, he was a catalyst for the enactment of smoking bans in offices and public establishments which started in Nassau County and spread throughout the U.S. For his vision and dedication, he was awarded The American Cancer Society’s “Great American Smoke out Award” and in 2008 received SIOR’s Community Service Award. Britvan has been honored by The American Cancer Society, Project Heal, The Theresa Foundation and several other charitable organizations.
