Manhattan, NY According to Walter & Samuels, Inc., Aeronautical Radio, Incorporated (ARINC), a transport communications and systems engineering solutions provider, has signed a lease for 8,000 s/f on the second floor at 225 West 39th St. in the Fashion District.
Mark Jaccom a director, and associate director Ian Weiss of Walter & Samuels represented the owner, an investment group led by Walter & Samuels chairman David Berley, in the 10-year lease. Justin Haber, Steve Rotter and Kyle Rike of JLL represented the tenant.
“We want to create a rich and diverse tenancy at this historic Garment District building, and are thrilled to have secured a major public company like Aeronautical Radio,” said Jaccom, who joined Walter & Samuels earlier this year as director of leasing and brokerage. “With great historic bones and a fully modern interior, we anticipate that the building will diversify over the years to include more media and tech, reflecting the evolution of the neighborhood overall, and the available local amenities.”
Located between Seventh and Eighth Aves. near Times Sq. and Herald Sq., the neighborhood offers tenants transportation options and amenities that include Skylark, Black Iron Burger and Ben’s Delicatessen.
ARINC was established in 1929 and provides transport communications and systems engineering solutions to the aviation, airports, defense, government, healthcare, networks, security, and transportation industries. Previously owned by the Carlyle Group, the company was sold in 2013 to Rockwell Collins, a leader in aviation and high-integrity solutions for commercial and military customers around the world.
