New York, NY The Metropolitan Movers Association (MMA) has launched its new philanthropic initiative, MMA Cares, which will donate furniture and storage items to homeless shelters, soup kitchens, schools, humanitarian organizations, government-run facilities, and other organizations in the greater New York area, that are in dire need for these types of items and resources.
Although the initiative will focus on the greater New York region, MMA has decided to kick-off the initiative by establishing a partnership with Houston Building Owners and Managers Association (Houston BOMA) based in Houston, Texas – an area largely impacted by Hurricane Harvey, following the recent hurricanes that have damaged parts of the southern U.S.
“The impact that Hurricane Harvey and the hurricanes that followed had on numerous lives and properties in Texas and other parts of the United States, as well as the Caribbean was record-breaking,” said MMA President Patrick Robbie. “The Metropolitan Movers Association understands the challenges of rebuilding, and felt that Houston was the best place to kick-off MMA Cares. Some of our clients are also members of BOMA New York, so partnering with their sister association in Houston was a no-brainer. We’re looking forward to working with Houston BOMA as neighborhoods and property owners begin to rebuild and refurnish their spaces.”
MMA has furniture available to support both commercial and residential spaces. To inquire about furniture, property owners or managers can visit houstonboma.org, or contact MMA member Craig Robbie at [email protected].
