White Plains, NY Bleakley Platt partner Jim Glatthaar has been invited to speak at the 37th Annual Housing Conference & Expo presented by the 2017 Council of New York City Cooperatives & Condominiums on November 12.
This all-day conference and expo, held at the Eleanor Roosevelt High School, East 67th St.
Glatthaar will present a session on what occurs when dissidents are elected to the board of directors of a coop or condo. The election of malcontent directors and/or managers presents a unique set of challenges to boards. He will discuss why such individuals run, why other residents vote for them and what happens when a ‘rogue’ board member is elected. He’ll address how board members can work productively with these individuals and develop strategies to manage a dissident, and ways that a board can minimize the likelihood of a dissident’s success in an election.
