Operating as a leading brand in China, with over 100 stores, the owners of Debutea will be bringing their unique teahouse concept for the first location in the United States, focusing on high-end tea and coffee, desserts and the newest exploding trend, Taiwan Cheese Tea, a thick layer of slightly sweetened and salty cheese cream added on top of a tea base.
The area south of Washington Square Park, home to New York University along Thompson Street largely features restaurants and chic eateries; most notable names include Springbone Kitchen, Il Mulino, Pig Bleecker, Carbone, by CHLOE, D?, Cookie Dough Confections, and Lupa Osteria Romana.
“Tea culture in China has a long history and has slowly been moving its way over to the United States. Debutea has chosen the heart of Greenwich Village, known for its stylish and trendy scene, to bring the freshest frenzy, a high-quality, Instagram-worthy concept, not just serving the millennials and the NYU student population but also the surrounding residents,” Faith Consolo said.
“It is not surprising that Debutea has chosen its location in this hip thoroughfare known for its creative charm,” said Arthur Maglio. “The concept will be a great addition to the neighborhood.”
