Marshall Cohen and Louis Perfetto, the founding partners of a New York law firm specializing in real estate with clients nationwide, have been named to "New York Super Lawyers," a competitive annual review of attorneys in 60 practice areas.
The list is compiled through a balloting process and selective review conducted by the publishers of Law & Politics magazine, which distributes the list Sept. 23 as part of the Sunday New York Times.
Cohen and Perfetto, who founded the firm Cohen & Perfetto LLP in 2005, specialize in all areas of real estate law, including land use and zoning, banking law and government incentives. The firm defines itself as a boutique firm with the ability to offer partner-level service to each client while possessing the capabilities of a much larger firm.
Cohen is distinguished in the industry for his handling of large-scale acquisition and development deals, many of which involve complex legal issues such as the sale of air rights or 1031 exchanges. Perfetto specializes in large-scale commercial development projects, often requiring expertise in zoning issues, and is also a recognized legal expert in the development of self storage facilities.
