New York, NY Thomas Shirocky has joined Colliers International as a senior managing director in its regional consulting group, bringing 26 years of real estate expertise to a position critical to the development and execution of real estate strategies and solutions for clients.
“Tom Shirocky is one of the smartest, most accomplished financial professionals in N.Y. real estate, and he adds another layer of excellence to a team that already impresses with their level of expertise each and every day,” said Joseph Harbert, Colliers’ eastern region president.
“He will have an immediate impact on the analytics and strategic advice we provide clients, and his leadership and transaction management experience will enhance every initiative in which he participates.
In his new role at Colliers, Mr. Shirocky will provide financial modeling and reporting, innovative deal configuration, economic comparisons, and cost analysis on a cash and book basis for acquisitions, dispositions, strategic planning initiatives and other client projects. He is well prepared for these activities, having held similar positions in several other full-service commercial real estate firms not just in the New York Region, but also the Denver, CO and Houston, TX markets. Mr. Shirocky has an extensive track record as a consulting resource on large transactions, and has advised senior management of numerous Fortune 500 companies regionally and nationally on the financial and operational feasibility of strategies in pursuit of the optimal real estate decision.
Just prior to joining Colliers, Mr. Shirocky led CBRE’s New Jersey Consulting team and provided strategic and financial analysis, transaction management and lease review for office, industrial and retail projects in New Jersey and other national account transactions. He began his real estate career at the heralded Edward S. Gordon Company.
Shirocky is the latest in a slew of strategic new hires that have significantly grown Colliers’ brokerage and support services in the Tri-State. Other notable recent talent acquisitions include retail professionals David A. Green, C. Bradley Mendelson, Michael Stone and David Tricarico, a large capital markets team led by Scott Latham, Richard Baxter and Yoron Cohen, and office broker John Zuckerman.
“Colliers is in the midst of a major expansion both in New York and across the country, and I’m excited to become part of a team that increasingly boasts such expertise and industry standouts,” said Mr. Shirocky. “The firm is truly challenging the established hierarchy and status quo in the Tri-State, and my skills and experience will complement both how it serves clients now and how it expects its capabilities to grow in the future.”
