Farmingdale, NY USGBC Long Island will hold its September Green Scene on September 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Molloy College Suffolk Center, Republic Airport, 7180 Republic Airport. Lauren Hildebrand, senior sustainability consultant at Steven Winter Associates (SWA) will be the presenter at the event.
Hildebrand will speak about various LEED projects that her firm is working on throughout LI, specifically her work on the Garvies Point project. She will speak to the main differences between LEED BD+C vs. LEED for Homes, pros and cons, learning curves, features, and updates to the LEED v4 program. She will also discuss LI specific energy codes, incentive programs and other areas of interest to the group. She is an in-house Green Rater and LEED BD+C Accredited Professional for SWA one of the largest LEED for home providers in the northeast. With 5,000 certified homes in 10 states, SWA has 13 LEED Raters based in Norwalk, CT, NYC, and Washington, D.C. The firm provides building-systems consulting services throughout the northeast and mid-Atlantic states as well as Indiana and Ohio.
