BOMA of Greater Rochester to hold Annual Legislative Update

The Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) of Greater Rochester will hold its Annual Legislative Update with Joseph Morelle, NYS assemblyman of the 132nd district, as its featured speaker on October 17. The event will be held at Mario's via Abruzzi, located on 2740 Monroe Ave. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon will begin at 12 p.m.
Morelle has served in the NYS assembly since 1990. He has led the efforts which called for reforms for Worker's Compensation and 240/241 (the Scaffolding Law.) He is the chair of the committee on insurance. He has previously chaired the committee on tourism, arts and sports development. He is also a member of the following:
* Committee on economic development, job creation, commerce and industry.
* Committee on higher education.
* Committee on rules.
* Committee on ways and means.
Prior to being elected to the state assembly, Morelle served in the Monroe County legislature from 1983 - 1990. In addition to his legislative responsibilities, he is president and CEO of MMI Technologies, Inc., a computer software company.
