New York, NY RKF has secured a 746 s/f lease for perfume retailer By Kilian, at 944 Madison Ave. RKF executive VP Beth Rosen and associate Benjamin Zack represented By Kilian. The landlord was represented by CBRE’s Richard Hodos, Daniel Alesandro and Joseph Hudson.

By Kilian’s new store, part of the remerchandising of the Shops at 944 Madison Ave., is situated on the west side of Madison Ave. between 74th and 75th Sts. on the Upper East Side, across from the recently opened Met Breuer, the Metropolitan Museum’s second Manhattan location. By Killian joins neighboring international fashion and accessories retailers Moynat, Roland Mouret, IRO and Acne Studios, which have all recently signed leases on this heavily trafficked stretch of Madison Ave.

“By Kilian was drawn to this location on Madison Avenue due to the high end customer base and luxury retail co-tenancy. This was also a unique opportunity to be directly across from the Met Breuer,” said Rosen.

“Madison Ave. has become a top destination for modern luxury fashion and art, as well as boutique hotels, which makes By Kilian the perfect addition to this elegant retail corridor.”

Founded in 2007 by Kilian Hennessy, grandson of the founder of the LVMH group, By Kilian is an eco-luxe perfume house featuring refillable bottles in high-end packaging: lacquer boxes with lock and key. The brand currently has stores in Moscow, London, Paris, Lugano and Doha, as well as a second store in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, where Rosen also represented the tenant in the transaction. The newest location is scheduled to open this summer.

RKF is also marketing nearly 33,000 s/f of available retail space on this block of Madison Ave., and 111,514 total s/f on the Upper East Side.
