New York, NY According to co-CEOs Brian Steinwurtzel and Eric Gural of Newmark Holdings, a vertically integrated owner, operator, property manager and developer of commercial real estate, Sweetgreen has signed a 15-year, 4,326 s/f retail lease at 10 Astor Place. The seven-story, 395,000 s/f, mixed-use building is located in the NoHo/East Village district.
Sweetgreen was represented by Jacqueline Klinger of SCG Retail and the Newmark Holdings team of Ross Kaplan and Kate Cohen represented the ownership.
“Sweetgreen is an excellent addition to the neighborhood, which has seen an influx of top-tier retail tenants, such as Chop’t, Bluestone Lane, Flywheel Sports and CVS,” said Kaplan. “Our team worked tirelessly to select the right tenant for the community and the building, which is just steps away from the New York University campus that houses 50,000 students.”
The building, which houses such notable tenants as Walgreen’s and VitaminShoppe, is located in close proximity to the Astor Place subway stop that receives 18,000 pedestrians daily. In addition, the retail space features an expansive, 40-foot frontage and 20-foot vaulted ceilings.
Newmark Holdings currently has two additional retail spaces available at nearby 740 Broadway for 1,256 square feet and 3,200 square feet, respectively, which can be combined into a 4,456-square-foot space with 40-foot frontage.
