What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or professional achievement in 2016?
Our most notable project in 2016 was the completion of Arbor Commercial Mortgage Headquarters’ in Uniondale. This minimalist and contemporary office renovation includes the executive floor of a two story commercial mortgage office, forms a space that is as much a gallery for the owner’s personal art collection as it is a modern workplace. Stark white marble, paired with warm gray lacquer and stainless steel plate, establish a clean yet dynamic aesthetic- a simple palette on which to display bold works of paintings & sculptures.
Our professional achievement in 2016 was winning an AIA Award for the 20th consecutive year.
What project, transaction, market trend or product had the greatest impact on your industry this year?
New suburban apartment buildings had the greatest impact on our industry this year. We are currently working on three high end apartment buildings on Long Island.
Communities like Great Neck are trying to re-plan their downtown centers with more residences to help grow the retail and city development. These communities are also demanding a higher quality of architecture in all their buildings, but especially apartment buildings, which are the face of many of these residential communities.
The new streetscape must be well designed. Not only does our attention to detail go into the apartments, but also into sleek, impressive lobbies, creative corridors and expected amenities like lounges, gyms, meeting rooms, party rooms and all outdoor spaces.
How will you be supercharging your productivity in 2017?
By doing exciting design work in architecture and interior design, improving on our social network, marketing, and website presence and investigating new materials to add into our design vocabulary.
What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2017?
I think the new government putting money into infrastructure will help develop and drive the investment in 2017.
