How did you get your start in real estate?

I posted my resume on craigslist (back when people used to do that) and was called to interview at Nasser Nakib Architects. It was such a wonderful place to work and I immediately fell in love with the industry. Haven’t looked back since.

What real estate associations or organizations are you a member of?

The Society for Marketing Professional Services and AIGA.

What recent honor, achievement or recognition has meant the most to you and why?

I recently presented at my first conference – the SMPS Southern Regional Conference on creating client care programs. It was challenging and nerve wracking at the same time.

My co-presenter and I received some of the highest scores of all the presenters and someone even wrote in that I seemed like someone they would want to be friends with. Not only did I gain additional skills and credibility, but it felt so rewarding to know that I had made it personal.

Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why?

Victoria Cerami, our CEO who has been the most amazing mentor, boss, and friend I could imagine. I’m constantly challenged, given growth opportunities through both my position and professional development, and I have a voice – which is still a rarity for marketers in this industry. I also think it’s incredibly important to have a female role model – someone who’s made it and juggled a family, a career, and running a successful company. It lets you know that it is possible to do.

What time management strategies do you find to be the most effective for you?

I put absolutely everything on my calendar – blocking out time for when I need to be at my desk doing certain tasks. I also make sure that my inbox is cleared at the end of every week – to do items are put into folders and itemized on my task list and completed items are put into other folders for later reference. Sometimes it could take 2 hours just to sort the things from that week, but I don’t leave the office on Friday until it’s done. It just gives me the peace of mind to not worry about having missed something over the weekend.
