MWE annual bowl-a-thon raises funds for Make-A-Wish

June 16, 2008 - Long Island
Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP (MWE, Garden City, N.Y. and New York, N.Y.), one of the Northeast's largest certified public accounting and business advisory firms, continued its tradition of fundraising on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation with its annual bowl-a-thon. This year, MWE contributed over $3,000 for this not-for-profit organization which grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Over 150 representatives from the firm, including MWE partners and staff members, participated in the event which specifically raises fund for the Metro New York Make-A-Wish chapter. Additionally, raffles were sold for prizes including Yankee and Mets game tickets, Becker Review books, restaurant gift certificates as well as movie tickets. The bowl-a-thon was held at Dave and Buster's in Westbury. With these latest funds raised added to its previous contribution total, MWE will soon be able to sponsor a child and help grant a wish. Along with the annual bowl-a-thon, MWE holds other events to raise money for Make-A-Wish. This year alone, the firm has already held an employee bake sale and international luncheon. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York recently granted the wish of its 7,000th recipient, a sports-loving 18 year old from the Bronx whose has lymphoma. His wish of receiving brand new, state-of-the-art snowboarding equipment was granted by the Foundation.
