Binghamton, NY According to the SEPP Management Group board of directors, it has unanimously appointed John Bernardo, CPA as its new executive director.
Bernardo has served as the deputy county executive of Broome County since 2012 and was town of Union supervisor from 2005 - 2011 before that.
“Mr. Bernardo has a great deal of knowledge and expertise working with community organizations and he will be a great addition to our team,” says David Harder, chairman of the board of directors. “We look forward to him starting so we can continue to provide top-notch housing options for seniors and the disabled in our community.”
Bernardo received his BBA in Accounting from Siena College in 1983. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the NYS Society of CPA’s.
Bernardo will officially take over in his new role in January.
In addition to his many years of practice in the accounting and finance fields, Bernardo is or has served as the CFO and/or COO of many privately held enterprises involved in the fields of telecommunications, billing services, electronic loyalty programs, start-up consulting and real estate.
Bernardo currently serves as a board member of the Broome County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and the Broome County Local Development Corp. (LDC) and is treasurer and member of the board of directors of the Juvenile Bipolar Research Foundation, Inc.
He also is a past treasurer and board member of the SUNY Health Science Center (Upstate Medical Center) Foundation, Inc.
