Buffalo, NY The Greater Buffalo Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) celebrated its annual BOMA Awards during a recognition luncheon at Acqua Restaurant. Over 90 BOMA members and colleagues attended to honor the outstanding performance of commercial real estate professionals and companies in eight categories.
Kevin Hassen of Uniland Development Co. was honored as Property Manager of the Year. Hassen has been described by tenants and his employer as high-energy, a hard-working team player, and most importantly, a leader. Hassen is committed to Uniland’s tag line, “reputation for results.”
Tim Enser, a building engineer who works closely with Hassen said, “He not only sets the bar high, he does chin-ups on it as well.” Andrea Ramirez-Justin, one of Hassen’s clients when he worked in Chicago wrote, “Kevin has the rare ability to turn a negative into a positive. He excels in his profession through his excellent management skills and offers his clients the calm that is needed in our current economic times. Kevin’s knowledge of the corporate real estate market is phenomenal and I would strongly recommend Kevin’s insight for anyone who is in need of his services.”
Hassen oversees several high profile properties for Uniland Development totaling 1.28 million s/f of hotel, condominiums and class A office space in the city. The buildings include the new Delaware North Building, Avant, M&T Bank and the NYS Tax & Finance. Hassen has a wealth of knowledge in property management and applies it to his every day responsibilities.
Prior to working for Uniland Development, he was director of property management for Iskalo Development Co. managing a portfolio including the Electric Tower. The experience working in Chicago accentuated his skills managing a this area’s challenging portfolio.

The BOMA awards represent both the companies that help grow the region by developing or renovating commercial buildings, creating jobs and servicing their tenants, and also the individuals who excel in their jobs and contribute to the success of their companies.
