Brian DiNardo, NYSCARThe NYSCAR board of governors held their first meeting of the year at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Albany on Sunday, February 7th.
The 2016 officers and governors were installed by 2015 NYSCAR president John Lavelle.
On behalf of the members of the Association, the board thanked John Lavelle with a President’s Plaque for his outstanding efforts while serving as president of NYSCAR (2014-2015). The board applauded John for his outstanding leadership over the past two years.
Robert Strell, WNY chapter was honored as the 2015 Realtor of the Year for NYSCAR. He has been an outstanding member, always willing to help with any project for the association. He was recognized for his commitment to excellence and his outstanding efforts on behalf of the NYSCAR. His untiring efforts as a member of the board of governors and his to continuing work to make the WNY chapter a strong chapter are key to keeping the association a leading organization in the commercial real estate industry.
Strell has been active as a real estate consultant for over 30 years. He has provided real estate consulting services regarding commercial property valuation, site relocation development IDA and public financing assistance, valuation analysis, tax assessment review, and other consulting work regarding all aspects of commercial real estate.
He has appeared and testified as an expert real estate witness in 125 litigation cases throughout NYS. He is a licensed real estate broker, a Realtor member of the National Association of Realtor, NYS Association of Realtors and NYSCAR and has completed over 800 hours of real estate education. He has also completed an executive MBA certificate program at the University at Buffalo School of Management.
Strell serves on the NYSCAR board of governors and is a past president of the western New York chapter of NYSCAR and currently serves on the chapter’s board of directors. Active in his community, he has also served on the board of directors of various religious and not for profit organizations.
2016 committees: The 2016 chairs and committees were approved for the year during the February NYSCAR board meeting.
Education:
• April 6: “Counseling for Action” instructed by Peter West, CCIM, hosted by the Hudson Valley Chapter, Hyatt Hotel, Fishkill. (April 7 Marketing Session).
• May 19: “Turning Real Estate Knowledge into Income” instructed by Tim Conley, CCIM, SIOR, hosted by the So. Tier Chapter.
Annual Conference-Our Planning Committee, chaired by Guy Blake, CCIM continues to making plans for the 15th Annual NYS Commercial Real Estate Conference which will be held June 13-15th at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel and Conference Center. The program is shaping up with some great education topics including technology, environmental, marketing and code of ethics. As always, we will also have our marketing investment session which everyone looks forward to.
