Rochester, NY Developers Buckingham Properties and Morgan Management revealed the first official retail tenant for Tower280 at Midtown. Branca Italian Restaurant will open its second location on the northwestern corner of the tower, occupying 4,500 s/f.
Owner and operator Josh Miles describes Branca as neighborhood Italian eatery honoring the storied culinary history of Italy by offering simple yet flavorfully complex dishes. Miles and his partners Tyler Wolk and John Ramsey are excited to bring a modified version of the current Branca in Bushnell’s Basin to the downtown. This downtown location will be one of several restaurant concepts that Miles owns and operates in the Greater Rochester Area.
“We are thrilled to be an early part of the resurgence of Rochester’s center city. We believe that restaurants are an essential part of the fabric of a community and feel grateful for this opportunity to contribute to the growth of Rochester’s downtown,” said Miles.
Tower280 brings 50,000 s/f of retail to Rochester’s Center City. Availabilities range from 1,000 s/f up to 14,000 s/f. The mixed-use building also includes two floors of office space, and 181 contemporary apartments. Several residential leases are signed, with occupancy scheduled for the first of the year. Architectural and engineering firm Bergmann Associates revealed the relocation of their headquarters to the entire second floor of Tower280. An additional major office tenant will be announced soon.
“Branca is the first of many retailers who have shown interest in downtown, and specifically Tower280,” said Ken Glazer, managing partner of Buckingham Properties. “With an increase in both residential and office users, the retail market is falling into place. We are committed to bringing a vibrant live-work-play destination to downtown Rochester.”
