New York, NY Magnusson Architecture and Planning, PC (MAP) has promoted two employees.
Jen Stencel, AIA, LEED AP, has been promoted to senior associate. She brings over 10 years of professional experience to the design and construction of adaptive reuse, rehabilitation, and new buildings, and is passionate about improving energy efficiency and serving the community. At MAP, she is managing multiple multifamily housing projects including Schoolhouse Terrace, The Mill at Middletown and 188 Warburton Ave.
Stencel takes conceptual ideas and turns them into reality, ensuring the needs of property owners, residents, and community groups are achieved. Prior to specializing in housing, she worked on higher education buildings and transportation hubs. She joined MAP in 2012 and is a registered architect in New York and Florida and a LEED Accredited Professional. Since 2009, she has been active in the AIANY Women in Architecture committee and currently serves as a co-chair.
Christopher Jones, AIA, formerly an associate at MAP, has been promoted to senior associate. With over nine years of experience, Jones has been involved in all phases of design and construction for both single and multifamily residences, commercial and retail spaces, and urban neighborhood planning projects. Since being hired in 2007 he has worked on projects such as The Anderson, Melrose Commons North Site C, Glenmore Grove and currently The Printhouse. Jones has been a juror for many design reviews and won both the National and New York Regional Level of the USGBC Emerging Green Builders Natural Talent Design Competition in 2009.
