New York, NY On Tuesday evening, December 15th, Professional Women in Construction (PWC) will kick off its expanding Scholarship Program with a Holiday Party celebrating five women from the public and private sectors of the AEC industry. The evening of festivities and networking with industry leaders will be held in the Grand Ballroom of The Yale Club, 50 Vanderbilt Ave. from 6 to 9 p.m.
PWC executive director Chelsea LeMar said, “Honoring five women role models who have achieved success is a fitting kickoff for the PWC Scholarship Program which supports women who wish to enter or advance their careers in the AEC industry.”
The honored guests are: Stacey Cumberbatch, commissioner, Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS); Christine Flaherty, CCM, associate commissioner, NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) and former PWC board member; Diannae Ehler, general manager, Bus Terminal, Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ); Eve Michel, AIA, chief architect/VP planning and development, Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA); and Yvonne Lopez-Diaz, PHR, VP, human resources director, HNTB.
The event fee of $175 for members, $225 for non-members, includes a lavish assortment of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and toasts for the honorees.
The Scholarship Program is being developed by LeMar; PWCpresident Barbara Armand, president of Armand Corp.; the PWC board; and the PWC Scholarship Committee.
