Jay Kreisberg, ABS Partners
New York, NY Jay Kreisberg, a 40-year veteran of the real estate industry, has been named director of property management and administration for ABS Partners Real Estate, LLC., a full-service commercial real estate firm. Effective immediately, Kreisberg will oversee the day-to-day practices of ABS’ property management group, which operates commercial office buildings, retail spaces, and multifamily properties across New York City. Kreisberg, who has been a senior managing director at ABS since 2007, will now report to president and co-managing partner Gregg Schenker and co-managing partner Peter Burack.
“Jay has leveraged his real estate skills to develop a wealth of knowledge and expertise over the years, while earning the well-deserved respect of his colleagues and of the partners at ABS,” said Schenker. “Jay has taken the time to learn every aspect of our firm, from the work of our brokers to our property managers.
His passion for the real estate industry and his ability to lead and communicate made him the ideal candidate to handle the inner workings between the properties we manage and the clients we serve.”
In his new role, Kreisberg will be overseeing the management of all ABS-managed properties, ensuring tenant satisfaction and coordinating with ABS brokers to close deals and attract new tenants. He will also be responsible for negotiating contracts with building vendors. Kreisberg will work alongside project manager Gary Forster, who handles capital projects for ABS Partners; construction manager George Alachouzos, who handles the company’s in-house construction and design team; and 10 other real estate management professionals that make up the ABS Partners management team.
“During my time at ABS, I have made it a point to involve myself in every sector of the firm so I could learn about every part of a deal, right down to the invoice process,” said Kreisberg. “That kind of attention to detail and my tenacity are two of the reasons the Partners trust me with this new role. My goal is to further elevate the already high standards of the ABS property management team and ensure that our buildings cater to and attract the best tenants possible.”
Kreisberg is an active member of REBNY and currently serves on the general meetings committee and on the ethics and professional practices committee. He is also an active and well-respected member of the YMWREA, where he served as treasurer in 1996 and was honored in 2007 as Senior Man of the Year.
Prior to his eight-year tenure at ABS Partners, Kreisberg served as executive vice president at Koeppel Companies until the firm sold its NYC properties. He has also worked for Colliers, Newmark & Company, and Williams Real Estate.
