Kerret of Silverstein Properties to be honored at Tel Aviv University's annual gala on December 8th

New York, NY American Friends of Tel Aviv University, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Israel’s largest institution of higher learning, will recognize Silverstein Properties president and Tel Aviv University (TAU) alumnus Tal Kerret at its annual gala on Tuesday, December 8th at the IAC Building. As president of Silverstein Properties, Inc., a privately-held, full-service real estate development, investment and management firm, Kerret is responsible for managing and monitoring the company’s portfolio of assets, devising strategies for growth and acting as a liaison with investors. “We are delighted to recognize Tal Kerret’s remarkable achievements as we host the first major celebration of Tel Aviv University’s 60th anniversary,” said Gail Reiss, president & CEO of American Friends of TAU. “Tal is an outstanding leader and innovator in the real estate industry, and a shining example of Tel Aviv University’s alumni over the last 60 years. Kerret joined Silverstein Properties in 2011.  He launched Silver Suites Offices at 7 and 4 World Trade Center and several other business units.  In January 2013, Kerret was promoted to Chief Investment Officer and in December 2014, he was promoted to president. Recently, Kerret launched SilverTech Ventures, a collaboration with Silverstein Properties that fosters a community of successful technology entrepreneurs in New York City. Prior to joining Silverstein Properties in 2011, Kerret was chairman and co-founder of Oberon Media, Inc. Before co-founding Oberon Media, he was CEO and co-founder of RichFX. Kerret also served six years in the Israeli Defense Forces. He holds degrees in mathematics and computer science from TAU. “I am delighted to support Tel Aviv University on its 60th anniversary,” said Kerret.  “I spent four happy years there studying math and computer science and met many friends and colleagues.  TAU was a great foundation for my career as an entrepreneur.” Recognizing 60 years of producing cutting-edge, groundbreaking work with profound implications for the future, the high-profile fundraiser will also recognize TAU alumni Brig. Gen. (res.) Dr. Daniel Gold, the maverick thinker behind the Iron Dome missile defense system, who will serve as the keynote speaker; Ambassador Ido Aharoni, consul general of Israel in New York; and Lilach Asher-Toplisky, CEO of Israel Discount Bank. Award-winning actor, film producer, director and TAU alumnus Adi Ezroni will serve as the host. The gala dinner will be held at 6pm at the IAC Building, located at 555 West 18th Street in Manhattan, with proceeds from the celebration directly supporting Tel Aviv University.
