Huntington, NY Long Island’s Commercial Industrial Brokers Society (CIBS) is making a $20,000 multi-year donation to Independent Group Home Living Program (IGHL), a Long Island not-for-profit agency that provides lifetime alternatives for people who are developmentally disabled.
The donation is funded by proceeds from the annual CIBS Golf Outing. This year’s outing took place May 31st at the Cold Spring Country Club.
Manorville, NY-based IGHL provides programs, services and support for people with intellectual disabilities so they can realize their full potential as human beings and contributing members of their community.
Its affiliated programs include Angele’s House, which assists families caring for medically frail children living at home with their parents or in special homes that offer 24-hour nursing support; the New Interdisciplinary School, a creative learning center in Yaphank, for children – with and without disabilities – their families, and the community; and Smile Farms at IGHL, a local green house and nursery growing annuals and perennials for sale to the community.
CIBS Long Island was formed in 1993 out of the shared belief among the region’s leading brokers that the region needed a unified voice to advocate on behalf of professionalism, ethics and industry cohesion.
