John Gallin & Son, Inc., one of the oldest family-owned construction firms in New York City, has begun a 12,000 s/f interior build-out project for Fidessa Group PLC on the 35th floor of 17 State St. The United Kingdom-based Fidessa Group, a leading global supplier of trading systems, market data and connectivity solutions for financial market participants, will occupy its new office space in the second quarter of this year. Fidessa's offices encompass several floors in the Financial District tower; John Gallin was the contractor for each of the previous expansions. Construction on the 35th floor space consists of several new offices, workstations, conference rooms, pantries and a redundant MDF (main distribution frame) room for the office's IT infrastructure. "We've worked with John Gallin several times before, and we were extremely impressed with the construction team's dedication, skill and attention to detail," said Tiffiny Gulla, facilities manager at Fidessa. "We look forward to partnering with them again as our firm further expands its presence here." The design team also includes Huntsman Group as the architect and AMA Associates as the engineer. John Gallin & Son, Inc. was founded in 1886 as a small masonry and concrete company, and now specializes in interior construction. The firm has recently completed projects for Ann Taylor, Disney, The Research Foundation of CUNY, Tishman Speyer Properties, The Durst Organization, Vornado Realty Trust, Wachovia Corporation and Bessemer Trust Company.
