Mercy Center honors Grace of Mohr Partners

New York, NY This year Mohr Partners’ George Grace, who currently serves on the Board of Directors for Mercy Center, was honored with the Circle of Mercy Award at the 13^th Annual Mercy Center Gala Dinner & Auction held at 583 Park Ave.

Mercy Center began in 1990 as a volunteer counseling service that operated out of a single classroom in the South Bronx. Today, Mercy Center helps over 2,000 women, men, and children each year.

“Mercy Center was founded to address the urgent problems of the women, and their families, of the area, by providing an oasis from a violent home, a place for children to learn to read and for parents to study English as a second language. In the beginning, these programs grew organically depending on the needs of the community. As the organization matured, programs tailored to the perennial problems of poverty developed. The goal is always to give families a chance to share in the American dream.” Grace said. We want families to know that they are loved, valued and have unlimited potential to grow in mind and heart.”

All of the programs, services, and classes offered at Mercy Center are free of charge. Family development, immigrant services, adult education and work readiness, youth programs, family skills, personal development, social services and community education, are among the services Mercy Center provides.
