Message from BMNAR’s executive director: 2017 is off to a rolling start with some great events by Rodriguez
The Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors (BMNAR) has put together an aggressive schedule of events for the 2017 season. I will update you monthly on the upcoming events so you can mark your calendars accordingly and plan to attend as many events as possible. Here are two events to get the year off to a rolling start. If you are a bowler, BMNAR’s first event is right up your “alley.”
On February 21, you are encouraged to “spare” an evening and join our members at the 2nd annual “Bowling with BMNAR.” The evening promises to be a “Bowl” of fun. This all-inclusive package was designed to keep Realtors and bowlers out of the “gutter.” For the low price of $125.00 per bowler (per bowler price is lower when you purchase a package deal), you can bowl for 2 1/5 hours, eat and drink all you can and increase your business by networking with the management companies that are sponsoring the lanes. Come out and let the “pins” fall where they may. “Bowling with BMNAR” is limited to 150 bowlers.
Our next major event is the 3rd annual “Legislative Breakfast” with members of the City Council of New York. The Breakfast is scheduled for February 24, and it will take place at the Pelham Bay Diner, 1920 E Gun Hill Rd, Bronx, NY 10469, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. The moderator for the panel discussion will be Gary Axelbank, the host of Bronx Talk. Five Council members with a constituency in Upper-Manhattan and The Bronx have committed to serving on the panel.
Realtors are part of the largest professional trade association in the United States which includes over one million residential Realtors and commercial practitioners involved in all facets of the industry as brokers, sales agents, property managers, appraisers and counselors. According to Kathy Zamechansky, BMNAR’s Past president and chairperson of the 2017 Legislative Committee said, “We may not always agree on the issues facing the real estate market or the obstacles to achieving the American dream of home ownership. We must, however, listen to all sides as that is the American way.”
The Breakfast is an invaluable opportunity to engage our leaders in a discussion on pending legislation and policy initiatives. It is also an important way to promote and protect a fundamentally sound real estate market so we can continue to build vibrant communities to live and work. If you are interested in attending this FREE event, seating is limited to the first 60 Realtors or real estate professionals that RSVP.
For more information on participating in “Bowling with BMNAR” as a sponsor, bowler or both and if you want to reserve a seat for the “Legislative Breakfast,” please call me or Janine Schall at 718-892-3000.
Eliezer Rodriguez, Esq. is the executive director of The Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors, Bronx, N.Y.
