REBNY unveils 2007 fall education schedule

October 1, 2007 - Brokerage
The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) recently unveiled its Fall 2007/2008 education schedule. REBNY, a New York City real estate trade association with more than 12,000 members, provides both Real Estate Education and Continuing Education classes, all accredited by New York State, to its members and non-members throughout the year. Industry professionals can fulfill course requirements to obtain salesperson licenses and sales broker licenses, earn necessary continuing education credits or take REBNY's Florida Broker Pre-Licensing Course, a popular class with REBNY members. In addition to these standard courses, this fall will kick-off REBNY's newest education venture, the New York Residential Specialist Designation Course (NYRS) offered twice a year. The course, whose fall classes filled up within weeks of its opening to students, was designed by some of REBNY's most prominent residential members to allow already licensed brokers to immerse themselves in a boot camp-like course to take their professional knowledge to the next level. "As New York City's premiere real estate trade association, we take our role in educating real estate professionals very seriously and always seek out the top instructors to run our courses," said Steven Spinola, president of the trade association. "New York State has strict requirements for the industry. We offer all the necessary courses at our convenient Midtown location, and offer various times and days and on-line courses, to make it easy for both members and non-members to work these courses into their work days. Earning and maintaining a real estate license can be tough and we're glad to make the process a bit more manageable." This fall's schedule will see a number of top industry professionals as instructors, including: Ruth Agnese, Appraisers and Planners, Inc; Neil Binder, president of Bellmarc Realty; Andrew Brucker, Esq. of Schechter & Brucker; Karen Duncan, director of sales of Brown Harris Stevens; Drew Fautley, principal of Vanderbilt Appraisal Company, LLC; Lucas Ferrara, Esq. of Finklestein Newman LLP; Barbara Fox, president of Fox Residential Group; San Irlander, president of Parker Madison Partners, Inc.; Diane Levine, brokerage manager of Sotheby's International Realty, Inc.; Paul Massey, co-principal of Massey Knakal Realty Services; and Pamela Michaels, Esq. of Asset Preservation, Inc.
