New York, NY According to Douglaston Development, Jessica Sherman has joined the firm as a project manager with the affordable housing team.

Sherman earned her MBA from Columbia Business School, and most recently completed an internship as a sr. product manager at Amazon focusing on reverse logistics.

Prior to attending Columbia, Sherman was a Leadership Fellow with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where she assisted in creating a $700 million strategy for Hurricane Sandy recovery and managed a team of more than 50 engineering and operations staff in deploying approximately $60M for 80 resiliency projects. She also managed portions of the public-private partnership to redevelop LaGuardia Airport.

Through the course of her career, she has held positions with Spidr Tech, P3 Global Management, Think Global School and Kreab Gavin Anderson.

Sherman currently serves as the Founding Co-Chair of the Fund for Public Housing’s Advisory Council. She sits on the Jewish National Fund Futures National Board and previously served as the New York Chair.

Sherman also worked with the Cuomo 2010 campaign as an intern and anti-poverty research analyst.  Douglaston Development’s affordable housing properties include the Edge Community Apartments in Williamsburg, Hampton Court in Harlem and Crossroads III in the Bronx.  The firm is also set to finish construction of two additional affordable housing developments in the Bronx within the next six months, and just begun construction on a 161 unit senior affordable housing in Staten Island which is expected to be completed in mid-2018.
